Some weddings are filled with grand productions and packed timelines. Others remind you what the day is truly about.

Shayne and Alan's wedding was one of those days.

On a beautiful spring afternoon in late April, surrounded by the rolling greens of Wildflower Country Club in Temple, Texas, they gathered their closest family and friends to celebrate the beginning of their marriage. With only about twenty guests in attendance, every part of the day felt personal, intentional, and completely centered on what mattered most—their relationship.

A Day That Felt Effortlessly Them

From the very beginning, there was a sense of ease surrounding Shayne and Alan.

They are the kind of couple who simply fit together. Their personalities balance each other beautifully. Shayne is quiet, kind, and incredibly sweet, while Alan brings an outgoing energy that naturally draws people in. Together, their relationship is marked by affection, patience, and a genuine adoration for one another that is impossible to miss.

Throughout the day, they remained relaxed and present, taking in every moment rather than rushing through it. There was no pressure to create a perfect production. Instead, they focused on celebrating the life they were building together.

A Beautiful Bride and a Dress Adventure

Shayne looked stunning in a flowy sweetheart-neckline gown paired with platform heels and the most beautiful pearl teardrop earrings and a matching necklace.

Like many wedding days, however, there was one small unexpected adventure before the ceremony.

When it came time to put on her dress, everyone realized the corset-style back wasn't quite as straightforward as expected. What followed was a team effort by three determined people trying to figure out the dress's mechanics. Thankfully, they succeeded, and before long Shayne was laughing through the moment and ready to walk down the aisle.

The entire experience felt like the perfect reflection of the day itself—real, joyful, and filled with people coming together to help make it special.

The Groom Who Deserved an Award

If there were an award for Groom of the Year, Alan would have been a strong contender.

Before the ceremony, Shayne and Alan exchanged gifts and handwritten notes. The moment was incredibly sweet, and let's just say there were definitely tears involved.

When the ceremony began, and Alan saw Shayne walking toward him, those emotions returned immediately. Tears streamed down his face as he watched his bride make her way down the aisle.

What stood out most throughout the day wasn't just the emotion—it was the way Alan cared for Shayne.

He was constantly helping with her dress, carrying things when her hands were full, and making sure she was comfortable. Even throughout the planning process, he remained fully involved, contributing ideas and helping build their photography shot list. His love for Shayne wasn't just something he said—it was something he consistently demonstrated through small, thoughtful actions.

And yes, despite wearing a full suit on his wedding day, the Apple Watch remained firmly in place.

A Ceremony Filled With Joy

Their ceremony took place overlooking the golf course and was officiated by Everlasting Elopements.

Though simple and only about ten minutes long, it was filled with meaning. The atmosphere felt relaxed, joyful, and genuine.

One of the sweetest moments was watching Shayne's mother stand proudly by her side. The emotion on her face said everything. She glowed with pride as she watched her daughter begin this new chapter.

There was no need for elaborate productions or lengthy traditions. The beauty was found in the simplicity of two people choosing each other.

"Love on the Fairway"

If there was one thing that made this wedding uniquely Shayne and Alan, it was golf.

Wildflower Country Club wasn't simply a venue they selected—it was part of their story. Many of the people in attendance were either family members or friends they had met through golf. The sport has become a meaningful part of their relationship and community.

After the ceremony, we loaded into golf carts and explored the course for portraits.

Shayne and Alan embraced every creative idea I threw their way, which meant plenty of laughter, plenty of fun, and a few moments where they were probably laughing more at me than the actual pose.

One of my favorite parts of the day was capturing drone portraits across the course. From wide aerial views of the couple driving golf carts together to epic overhead images of them stretched out on the fairway, every photo felt uniquely representative of who they are.

They even incorporated a custom golf flag featuring their new last name—a perfect personal touch that celebrated one of their favorite shared hobbies.

Community, Family, and FOOD

Celebrating What Matters Most

The reception carried the same laid-back atmosphere that defined the rest of the day.

The family gathered together for dinner, dances, and celebration. Shayne and Alan shared their first dance as husband and wife before special parent dances filled the room with smiles and emotion. They cut their cake, spent time with their guests, and soaked in every moment.

No pressure.

Just joy.

The intimate guest count created an atmosphere where every conversation mattered, and every guest felt connected to the celebration.

The Perfect Ending

That Just Married Feeling

As the evening came to a close, guests gathered outside for a sparkler exit that lit up the night.

Then came one of the most memorable moments of the entire day.

Shayne and Alan climbed into their roofless Jeep and drove through the parking lot shouting, "We're married!" at the top of their lungs.

It was carefree, joyful, and completely authentic to who they are.

The perfect ending to a day that never tried to be anything other than itself.

A Marriage Worth Celebrating

When I look back on Shayne and Alan's wedding, what stands out most isn't a specific detail or photograph.

It's how naturally they fit together.

The way they laughed.

The way they cared for one another.

The way they intentionally built a wedding day around celebrating their relationship rather than putting on a production.

Twenty years from now, I hope they look back at these images and remember exactly how it felt. Not just the events of the day, but the joy, the ease, and the certainty that they had found the person they were always meant to do life with.

Shayne and Alan, thank you for allowing me to document such a meaningful chapter of your story. It was an honor to celebrate alongside you.

xoxo, Josie Lane
